Leaf to Root Yoga
About the Company
In gardening, there is an adage – Leaf to Root, Flower to Fruit. Before we flower, before we fruit in any sustained way, we must have well-prepared ground to rise from. Your ground is your body: your blood and bones, your heart and mind. What grows inside – and out – begins with the quality of attention that we give ourselves here. For this journey, yoga is a beautiful vehicle – a set of tools and insights – but not the answers themselves. Those are for you to seek and experience yourself. Your practice will become a collection of tools and insights transcending tradition and time.

Love the earth and sun and the animals, have patience and indulgence toward the people, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.
